Spring Health & Wellness Symposium – March 15, 2025, 11 AM – 1:30 PM
Thank you to all who were able to attend the Marin Healthcare District’s Spring Health & Wellness Symposium. We hope you found the seminars to be engaging and insightful. Each session was recorded, and the recordings are offered in both English, and Spanish.

Join Us for the Marin Teen Girls Conference 13th Annual Conference – March 2, 2025, 9 AM-3 PM
Hosted by the Marin Women’s Commission, this one-of-a kind conference was about creating solutions to improve the lives of teen girls in Marin County. A dedicated team of 20+ Teen Girl Ambassadors guided the conference, ensuring every aspect reflects the needs and interests of the young women it serves.

Careers in Medicine – Feb 27, 2025, 12 Noon-3:30 PM
We were proud to host over 60 teens at our Careers in Medicine event on February 27, 2025! At this event, young people interested in a career in medicine or healthcare were able to learn about the pros and cons of different careers in medicine, such as: Surgeons, nurses, radiology technicians, pharmacists, CEO, and more! Additionally all were given a behind-the-scenes tour of MarinHealth Medical Center and our operating rooms. Attendees were able to engage with clinicians and other staff members to ask any questions they might have about each individuals profession.

Women’s Health & Wellness Day – October 29, 2024, 3 PM-6:30 PM
In honor of Women’s Health & Wellness Day, the Marin Healthcare District provided free health services for women, including: Mammography screenings, vaccinations, expert discussions and a cooking demonstration by Chef Curtis Aiken at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Thank you to all who were able to join us at this fabulous event!

Get a Car Wash and a Free Health Screening – October 19, 2024, 11 AM-2 PM
On October 19, 2024, the Marin Healthcare District provided free healthcare screenings: blood pressure & diabetes screenings, to community members at Matt & Jeff’s Carwash from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Thank you to all who were able to join us at this unique wellness opportunity!

Innovations in Managing High Blood Pressure — Sep 24, 2024, 5:30 PM
Community members were invited to join us for a free seminar to learn about new innovative treatments, technology, and ways to reduce high blood pressure. At this event, those who have been diagnosed with hypertension or high blood pressure learned about: Progression of hypertension, women and hypertension, medication management, innovative new procedures, lifestyle changes for maximum impact and more. Health Screening at the Senior Health Fair – September 18, 2024, 9AM-3PM
At the Senior Health Fair on September 18, 2024, MarinHealth & Marin Healthcare District employees offered vital health screenings including blood pressure and diabetes checks to attendees. Thank you to all who were able to join us at this fabulous event!

We Care About Your Health Fair – August 31, 2024, 11 AM-2 PM
The Marin Healthcare District provided free health checks for blood pressure and diabetes and provided a fun photo booth for kids of all ages at a pop-up “We Care About Your Health Fair” event on Saturday, August 31, 2024. At our Health Fair Event in 2023, over 100 people received free health screenings. We were honored to be able to provide health checks for interested individuals, and we are proud to host this event once again for the Marin Community at the Al Boro Community Center in San Rafael.

Whether you are a person living with a serious illness, a caregiver of a loved one, or the healthiest you have ever been, having a care plan in the event you are unable to speak for yourself is important. Give yourself and your family peace of mind, knowing your wishes will be honored. Leap into Leap Year with A Healthy Cooking Demonstration led by celebrity chef Hugh Groman — Feb 29, 2024, 5:30 PM
On February 29, 2024, community members were invited to join us for a healthy cooking demonstration featuring celebrity chef Hugh Groman. Attendees of the event were treated to an informative, fun evening that included a free tasting of Chef Groman’s dishes, which were as beautiful as they were delicious. Skin Cancer Prevention and Detection Seminar — Oct 18, 2023, 5:30 PM
With over 5 million cases diagnosed in the U.S., skin cancer is America’s most common cancer. At this educational seminar presented by Dr. Ravinder Gogia, Board-Certified Dermatologist at MarinHealth Dermatology, attendees learned how to identify suspicious spots and take proactive steps toward safeguarding your health and staying vigilant about skin health. Light dinner and refreshments were served.

We Care About Your Health Fair – Saturday, August 26, 2023, 10 AM-2 PM
The Marin Healthcare District provided free health checks for blood pressure and diabetes, distributed free healthy snacks, and provided a fun photo booth for kids of all ages at a pop-up “We Care About Your Health Fair” event on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Over 100 people were screened that day – we were honored to be able to provide health checks for interested individuals, and we were proud to host this event for the Marin Community at the Al Boro Community Center in San Rafael.

Adolescent Eating Disorders: What Steps Can You Take? Wednesday — May 24, 2023, 5:30 PM
Eating disorders affect more than 30 million people in the U.S. It’s a serious condition that impacts all genders, races, and ethnic groups, and it can negatively impact one’s health, emotions, and ability to function in all areas of life. Most eating disorders involve focusing too much on weight, body shape, and food, leading to dangerous eating behaviors that can harm the heart, digestive system, bones, teeth, and mouth and lead to other diseases. The good news is that with proper treatment and early intervention, your child can return to healthier eating habits and reverse serious complications caused by eating disorders. Community Health Webinar: Health Effects of Climate Change – 11/9/2022 6:30 PM
The health effects of the climate crisis are already upon us – from lung disease triggered by wildfires to deadly heatwaves to surges of infectious diseases. Evidence is mounting that biodiversity loss and changes in temperature and precipitation affect malnutrition, infectious and chronic diseases, and mental health and lead to injuries and premature death. In this presentation, our specialists discussed immediate and long-term causes and effects on health and what we must do in our local and global communities to control, respond, treat, adapt, and mitigate. Community Health Webinar: Pediatric COVID Vaccination – 4/25/2022 5:30 PM
The COVID-19 vaccine is available for children aged five and up, and boosters are now authorized for those aged six months or older. Marin County is among the most highly vaccinated areas in the nation. But many questions and concerns arise when it comes to vaccinating our children. Community Health Webinar: Bike Safety and Preventing Injury – 9/30/2021 5:30 PM
Bicycle use has become more popular, and when school is back in session, bicycle safety becomes even more important. Bicycle crashes are among the top causes of injury seen in the Emergency and Trauma Department at MarinHealth Medical Center and other hospitals. Community Health Seminar Series – Women and Cardiometabolic Health – 3/4/2020 6:30 PM
This special lecture focused on Women and Cardiometabolic Health. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in the United States, accounting for 1 in 5 deaths in US women. MHD Community Health Seminar: Suicide Prevention and Support – 3/26/2019 7:00 PM
County of Marin Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) staff and partners provided an overview of Marin County’s crisis support and suicide prevention services. Presenters shared information on warning signs and symptoms of suicide as well as family and survivor support services in the county.
