Marin Healthcare District Calls For Public Comment On Renewed Hospital Lease Terms

GREENBRAE, CA — With the Marin General Hospital lease set to expire in December of 2015, the Marin Healthcare District (MHD) Board of Directors and the Marin General Hospital Board of Directors have approved terms for the new lease. On February 12, 2013, the public will have its first of five opportunities to provide public comment during the regularly scheduled MHD Board meeting. A term sheet showing the proposed renewal terms along with the proposed lease will be posted on the MHD website,www.marinhealthcare.org, at least 72-hours prior to the meeting. The proposed term sheet and the proposed lease will also be available to review in hard copy at the February meeting.

“We look forward to hearing from the public as we pursue a new lease of the community’s hospital buildings and land to Marin General Hospital Corporation,” says Jennifer Rienks, Chair, Marin Healthcare District Board of Directors. “Unlike the previous lease of Marin General, the Marin Healthcare District Board is the sole corporate member of Marin General Hospital Corporation. This ensures Marin General’s assets stay in the community and are reinvested in the hospital.”

The meeting will be held at 7 pm in the Marin General Hospital Conference Room (off the West Lobby), 250 Bon Air Rd., Greenbrae, CA 94904. Dates and times for the four remaining public comment meetings will be released soon.
