Marin General Hospital Foundation receives $10 million grant

Marin-based family foundation gives generously for the future of Marin General Hospital

GREENBRAE, CA – Marin General Hospital Foundation today announced that it has received a $10 million grant from a Marin County-based family foundation. The gift will support fundraising efforts underway to build the new Marin General Hospital, MGH 2.0. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, expressed great appreciation for the extraordinary work of Marin General Hospital, as well as a deep commitment to supporting its overall mission and vision.

“Marin General Hospital Foundation is so appreciative of this generous grant from the family foundation. We hope it continues to inspire philanthropy for the benefit of Marin General Hospital,” said Liz Kolcun, Foundation President and Chief Development Officer at Marin General Hospital. “Contributions such as these allow us to provide the very best care for the people we serve and fund much-needed programs, services, and advanced technologies that keep Marin General Hospital at the forefront of medicine.”

Marin General Hospital Foundation is responsible for securing gifts for capital investments, programs, services, and new technologies at Marin General Hospital. Since the Foundation was established in 1961, the Hospital has benefited greatly from the extraordinary generosity of the Marin community.

Improvements funded in-part through generous donations to Marin General Hospital Foundation include:

  • Construction of the new Marin General Hospital (MGH 2.0)—currently underway
  • Expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department
  • New MRI equipment for the Cancer Institute
  • The creation and development of the Braden Diabetes Center
  • The Haynes Cardiovascular Institute Electrophysiology Lab
