Lee Domanico
Chief Executive Officer
Since 2008, Mr. Domanico has served as the CEO of Marin Healthcare District. He holds a BS (Magna Cum Laude) in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford.  Before joining the Marin Healthcare District Board in 2008, Mr. Domanico held several executive leadership positions, including CEO of Columbus-Cabrini Health System in Chicago; CEO of USC Hospital with Tenet Healthcare in Los Angeles; President and CEO of Merritt Peralta Medical Center in Oakland; and CEO of El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. He is a published authority on hospital-based health care management and is well respected for his innovative and collaborative approach to hospital management.

David Cox

Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Cox has extensive experience in financial and operational management in healthcare, and has served in senior leadership roles at community hospitals, integrated delivery systems, an academic medical center, medical groups, and insurance companies. From 1982 through 1996, Mr. Cox worked for Sutter Health in a variety of roles, including Chief Financial Officer, and was instrumental in growing the organization into one of California’s premier integrated delivery systems. Mr. Cox has a BS in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA from the University of Dayton. He and his wife live in Kentfield.

Jon Friedenberg

Chief Fund & Business Development Officer
Mr. Friedenberg provides the overall direction for activities relating to business development, fundraising, marketing, planning, government relations, media relations, and external communications for the District. He also oversees the Marin General Hospital Foundation. As Vice President of El Camino Hospital from 2002-2010, he founded the hospital’s Genomic Medicine Institute, South Asian Heart Center, the Fogarty Institute for Innovation, and the Center for Technology Integration. Mr. Friedenberg has a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, a master’s degree from UC Davis, and was a fellow at Wexner Heritage Foundation. Married with two children, he enjoys backpacking with his family along Marin’s trails and coastline.

Theresa Gianfortune

Chief Human Resources Officer
Ms. Gianfortune has over 20 years of human resources experience in organizations from New England to Southern California. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Human Resources for Children’s Hospital of Orange County. In addition to her extensive health care experience, Ms. Gianfortune received the 2006 National Human Resources Association (“HNRA”) of Southern California Compassionate Excellence Award. She has a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Daniel Webster College, New Hampshire.
